YAM Spring Exhibition and Celebration

Each year, districts across the state may submit artwork created by Pre-K through 12th grade student artists in Public and Private Schools which will be selected to be on display in the YAM Spring Exhibition at the Bullock Texas State History Museum in Austin, Texas during the month of March. The exhibition is followed by an Awards Celebration at the end of the month recognizing Flag Design winners from elementary, middle and high school, highlighting the overall Flag Design which will represent Texas Youth Art Month for the year. Friends and family are invited to the Awards Celebration at The Bullock (date will be announced) to view the exhibit, recognize all of the amazing artists and enjoy some light refreshments.

• Online Registration opens Monday, November 4, 2024 - Friday, December 6, 2024
• *NEW* $12 per entry
• NO AI images
• See Rules and Guidelines in the 2024-2025 YAM Book for details
• One entry per TAEA Member Teacher (submitted by designated District Representative)
• Upload the following to the designated District Representative digital shared drive (link accessible upon registration)
  • Artwork Permission Form — (English) (Spanish)
  • Universal Artwork Release Form — (English) (Spanish)
  • Artwork as a high-resolution JPEG — please refer to YAM's Photographing Artwork Entries (PDF) instructions to maximize the quality of the artwork you are submitting.
• After artwork has been juried and notification of selected artworks has been made, designated District Representatives will mail physical artwork to:

Governor's Gallery

Each year, the Office of the First Lady of Texas selects a group of artworks from the Youth Art Month Spring Exhibition to be showcased in the Governor's Business Office for one year. This year, First Lady, Cecilia Abbott has selected 14 pieces, 2D and 3D, with a special piece that will be displayed in both Governor Abbott and Mrs. Abbott's personal offices.

The artworks are framed by TAEA, and the honored student artists and their families along with their teachers and district representatives will be invited to celebration in their honor at the end of the 2025 school year.
