Updates!

Awards — Now is your chance to nominate a deserving colleague, K-12 educator, museum educator, or administrator for a TAEA Award. See TAEA website for details. Deadline is March 31st.

Leadership — Consider running for a TAEA officer position. Higher Education Division Chair? Secretary? President? Commitment to serve forms and applications are due soon.

TAEA Trends — Congratulate Michelle Kraft for an excellent edition of Trends. She and Chris Bain are currently working on the next edition, focusing on social issues and art education. We've had many excellent submissions and our reviewers are likely to have a difficult time selecting our next group of articles.

Other Kinds of Trends . . . .

The TAEA fall 2009 conference will be held in Dallas.

A continuing trend . . . will be our sponsorship of the 3rd Graduate Research Panel at the 2009 conference. Graduate advisors, please nominate your students to participate in this forum (contact ).

Another continuing trendwill be our division's sponsorship of the 2nd Faculty Research Panel at the 2009 conference. If you would like to participate, contact Paul Bolin at .

A new trend . . . . Extending research through "Connections" sessions at the 2009 conference. How do theory and practice intersect? We'd like to encourage higher educators to co-present with members from other divisions at the 2009 conference. Is there a theory, topic, or concept that you can briefly explain? Is there an educator in your area who has put this theory into practice? That's what "Connections" sessions are all about . . . . making connections between art educators at all levels.

Best,

Chris Bain
Higher Education Division Chair
